Gujarat declared most polluted state in India

Gujarat state has been declared as the most polluted State in India. The Central Pollution Control Board (CPCB) came with report recently and made this announcement. Out of the 6.2 million tonnes of hazardous waste, Gujarat alone accounts for 29% and 25% in Maharashtra. The next rated state is Andhra Pradesh with 9% followed by Rajasthan with 5% and West Bengal and Tamil Nadu reckoned at 4% each in generation of hazardous waste.

Gujarat is the state that has emerged as a global hub for manufacturing. The Most Industrialized State is expected to be most polluted. Industrialization comes with Pollution as its side effect. Production Industries are needed to spread smoke in the environment. Its because of almost an Industrial revolution of Chemical , Metallurgy , Rubber, Mechanical etc. Hazardous waste should be properly dumped, not exceptions to that. We cannot allow the wastes to pollute our environment. Pollution should be prevented and the government should take necessary actions for this.

We all know that India is poor country. 70%(abt 700 million) of the population is facing poverty. There should be some solution for this problem.

If every Indian paid taxes truly due from him/her, we won't need to loot any country. Govt may also want to look at reducing taxation and making it simple.

Korea was poor in the 60s, but now it is developed. China was as poor as India was but in few years, it will be developed. Situation in China was as pathetic as India just 20 years ago. Then they decided to change it and they are about to achieve it. There is an economic divide in China. In a communist state, all people are supposed to be equally poor. But in India all the money are accumulated in one side. Poor get poorer and rich get richer.

It is not difficult for Indian poor to emerge out of poverty. We care only about our own life, not about entire country. Government should take necessary actions before it too late, because the effects are going to be very serious. At the same time public should also co-operate with the government and shoud change the situation in join hands.

My friends who are working in Corporate always have the habit of asking "BEER" as a treat. I am wondering why this guys are quiet interested in Boozing.

I asked one of my friends he said "Boozing may relax our body, make us free from mental pressure, we will forget all the things so that am drinking once in a week".

I replied him if these are the results of Boozing doctors would have prescribed this for their mental pressure patients na???... He don’t have the answer.

Someone telling boozing is an ethical manner to cope of with Corporate Parties. People in corporate doesn’t gave any respect if u say I wont booze. I want to say something about this over 90% of the corporate company parties banned the alcohol consumption. So the rest of the companies we don’t want to consider it.

So boozing may be once in a week as of now that might increase to twice a week, thrice a week so that I could catch up ourselves.

So think twice before u do anything. Someone telling you have to enjoy your life. I don’t know the meaning of this people whether boozing is the only way to enjoy the life, if is it so our parents would have practiced us while we were born.

India badly missed Sachin Tendulkar during the Ahmedabad Test where South Africa handed the host their fourth biggest defeat on home soil on the third day of the second Test. The groin injury may have kept Tendulkar out of the third Test against South Africa but the Master Blaster feels winning the World Cup has been an unfulfilled dream.

Speaking to a private news channel the Master Blaster said, "Winning the World Cup is certainly still an unfulfilled dream and I would love to play in it." Sachin said that he will now weigh his career options series by series without setting a timeline for retirement.

In a career span of 18 years and counting, Tendulkar has played 147 Tests and 417 One-Day Internationals. He has amassed 11782 Test runs and 16361 ODI runs with 39 and 42 hundreds in each form of the game.

Rupees closes at 39.95/96 per dollar

The rupee climbed to its highest close in five days on Friday, after inflation shot to a three-year high and triggered hopes the central bank would let the currency appreciate to rein in prices.

The partially convertible rupee ended at 39.95/96 per dollar, 0.18 percent above Thursday's close of 40.025/035. Weekly data showed annual inflation as measured by the wholesale price index soared to 7.0 percent on March 22, its highest reading since Dec. 4, 2004 and far exceeding analysts' expectations of 6.62 percent.

The data triggered talk the Reserve Bank of India (RBI) may raise rates at a policy review on April 29 or would allow outsized appreciation of the rupee to rein in inflation. "If the RBI raises interest rates, that would add to the rate differential," said V. Rajagopal, head of currency trading at Kotak Mahindra Bank.

"Historically, we've seen the rupee gaining when this has happened and again today, sentiment is in this direction." India's benchmark lending rate at 7.75 percent is 550 basis points more than the U.S. federal funds rate of 2.25 percent, making investments in Indian assets more attractive.

Goldman Sachs said in a note after the inflation data the central bank may raise rates by 50 basis points in April and also expects it to allow the rupee to rise by 4 percent in 2008/09. Traders were also waiting for weekly U.S. job data which will provide clues on state of the health of the world's biggest economy.

According to a poll, U.S. employers are seen cutting payrolls for a third straight month in March, dropping 60,000 jobs after cutting 63,000 non-farm payrolls in February.

TCS inks multi-year pact with chrysler

Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) has inked a multi-year pact with Chrysler LLC to provide a comprehensive portfolio of IT services to the latter.

Under the contract, the USD 4.3 billion infotech major will deliver IT application and maintenance support devices to Chrysler by leveraging its Global Network Delivery Model from various locations, a TCS release said.

TCS said the automobile industry is a key focus market for the company, with the manufacturing vertical accounting for 15.1 per cent of its revenues in fiscal year 2007.

A part of the salt-to-software Tata Group, TCS, Asia's largest IT services company, has operations in 47 countries and a total head count of 108,000.

Indian opener Virender Sehwag has struck his second career triple century on day three of the first Test against South Africa in Chennai.

The 29-year-old Sehwag, who made 309 against Pakistan at Multan in 2004, became only the third player to achieve the feat of two triple hundreds, matching Australian Don Bradman and West Indies batsman Brian Lara.

Indian were battling back after South Africa recorded a first innings total of 540, Hashlim Amla their top scorer with 159.

Sehwag dominated the morning's play, supported by fellow opener Wasim Jaffer, as the home team reached 176 without loss at lunch. That became 309-1 at tea, although Paul Harris had Jaffer caught at first slip by Jacques Kallis for 73 in the 53rd over to bring to an end a 213-run opening partnership.

to sleep as kids. Also, make sure you try to keep the same schedule on weekends too, otherwise the next morning, you’d wake later and feel overly tired.

Sleep only at night. Avoid daytime sleep if possible. Daytime naps steal hours from nighttime slumber. Limit daytime sleep to 20-minute, power naps.

Exercise. It’s actually known to help you sleep better. Your body uses the sleep period to recover its muscles and joints that have been exercised. Twenty to thirty minutes of exercise every day can help you sleep, but be sure to exercise in the morning or afternoon. Exercise stimulates the body and aerobic activity before bedtime may make falling asleep more difficult.

Taking a hot shower or bath before bed helps bring on sleep because they can relax tense muscles.

Avoid eating just before bed. Avoid eat large meals or spicy foods before bedtime. Give yourself at least 2 hours from when you eat to when you sleep. This allows for digestion to happen (or at least start) well before you go to sleep so your body can rest well during the night, rather than churning away your food.

Avoid caffeine. It keeps you awake and that’s now what you want for a good nights sleep. We all know that.

Read a fiction book. It takes you to a whole new world if you really get into it. And then take some time to ponder over the book as you fall asleep. I find as I read more and more, regardless of the book, I get more tired at night and so find it easier to fall asleep. Different for others?

Have the room slightly cooler. I prefer this to a hot room. I prefer to turn off the heat and allow the coolness to circulate in and out of the windows. If I get cold, I wear warmer clothes. It also saves on the bills as you’re not going to require the heat all night long.

Sleep in silence. I find sleeping with no music or TV on more easy and restful. I guess others are different, but sleep with no distractions is best for a clearer mind.

Avoid alcohol before bedtime. It’s a depressant; although it may make it easier to fall asleep, it causes you to wake up during the night. As alcohol is digested your body goes into withdrawal from the alcohol, causing nighttime awakenings and often nightmares for some people.

Nokia 888 Communicator

Nokia definitely has the most interesting concept phones. Nokia 888 Communicator is a striking futuristic concept phone. The phone, which uses liquid batteries, speech recognition, flexible touchscreen and touch-sensitive body cover,is designed by Tamer Nakisci and won the Nokia Design Award.

Nokia Aeon

Nokia Aeon was presented by Nokia on their website in the Research & Development section. What is so great about this phone is that it looks like it will actually go into production next February. Of course, its just a rumor, but still, makes us hope to actually see it someday in the GSM shop. All we know about it for now is that its a touchscreen phone and it looks fantastic.

Sky “Sleak n Slim”

“Sleek & Slim” from SKY is another concept based on touchscreen technology. The phone has a discretely glowing touchpad, hideaway keys and generally utterly-fashionable minimalist design.

Benq-Siemes “Snaked”

Benq designers thought of women too and presented Snaked. This is a “reptile” looking phone, creepy somehow, but still is very cool. The Snaked is a fashion phone for sport loving women, because it also has body monitoring sensors to help the ladies keep those fine shapes.

What You See is What You Get Concept

One thing is for sure about this concept phone, they could’ve named it shorter. Designed by Pei-Hua Hang, the phone’s name comes from the fact that this concept no longer uses an LCD as viewfinder for the digital camera, instead it uses a transparent frame. And of course, interaction is made through a touchscreen.

Retroxis By Dark Label

If most phones presented here will never be sold in store for sure, the Retroxis concept phone from Dark Label looks kinda human, and makes us hope we’ll be able to get one of these one day. Designed by Lim Sze Tat the phone is encased in high polished polycarbonate renowned for its lightweight and toughness and has an invisible OLED display that silently hides away when inactive.

Benq-Siemens “The Blackbox”

Black Box designed by Benq-Siemens uses a touch screen as its keypad and, depending on the functions you are using, the touch screen changes the control layout immediately.

NEC Tag

Somehow similar to the Snaked concept, the NEC Tag is a flexible phone concept that can be , for example, hung from a belt or wrapped around the user’s arm. Interesting is that the phone has shape-memorizing material and sensors that allows the phone to change its shape according to the mode.

TripleWatch

Though the idea of a cellphone watch is not so new, the TripleWatch designed by Manon Maneenawa has an interesting triple flip technique that allows the user to transform the watch into a normal cellphone. When used as a wrist watch, the phone has a speaker button that allows the user to answer the phone and hang up while driving.
